Seating & views

Kenan Stadium seats 50,500 after bleachers were replaced with individual seats in 2018. Built in a wooded ravine in 1927, it keeps pines and oaks along its walkways. The sidelines are double-decked, the west end zone was added in the late 1990s, and the 2011 Blue Zone enclosed the east end with club, loge and suite levels. Most of the west end zone is the student section, the Tar Pit, plus three sections of the south stands, with students entering at Gate 5. The Kenan SkyBox, on the fifth floor of the Kenan Football Center, is an add-on for any ticket holder. The field returned to natural grass in 2025.

Parking & tailgating

Campus lots near the stadium are mostly Rams Club parking managed by the Educational Foundation. Public parking costs $20 and can be prepaid through ParkMobile for lots such as Manning, Branson Street and 700 Hibbard. Many fans ride the Tar Heel Express from the Friday Center, Carolina Coffee Shop or Southern Village for $5 round trip, with buses dropping off on South Road. Rideshare uses the South Columbia bus lane. Chapel Thrill Game Day starts three hours before kickoff in front of Wilson Library, and REVELxp tailgates set up under the Bell Tower.
