Tradition. Privet hedges ring the field, and past Uga mascots are entombed in a mausoleum in the southwest corner of the stadium.
Seating & views
Sanford Stadium seats 93,033 and runs east to west. The lower bowl wraps all sides, a club level spans both sidelines and the east end zone, and the north sideline has a second upper deck plus 27 SkySuites. A 2024 project added a new press box and the 50 Yard Line Club above the south stands. The west end stays partly open because of Gillis Bridge. Privet hedges ring the field, hence "Between the Hedges". For shade, sit on the south sideline, since the press box shades it in the afternoon, while the north side and end zones get the most sun.
Parking & tailgating
Georgia's gameday operations, including parking, shuttles and tailgating rules, are run through the university's Gameday Gameplan site at gameday.uga.edu, which aims to balance the gameday experience with safety and campus preservation. Check gameday.uga.edu and georgiadogs.com before each game for current parking, shuttle and tailgating information.
