Game day

Tradition. Players touch "Hep's Rock," a tradition begun under coach Terry Hoeppner, before taking the field.

Seating & views

Indiana's Memorial Stadium seats 53,524. The field runs north to south, with both end zones now enclosed by football buildings: the north end added classrooms and training space in 2007, and the south end was enclosed in 2018 with a rooftop terrace and a large video board. Press and luxury seating sit in the west-side tower. Since 2024 the student section has filled the north end zone, zones 13 through 24, with the Marching Hundred in the middle of it. Most general seating is aluminum bleachers. Hep's Rock, a limestone boulder honoring coach Terry Hoeppner, now sits on the east concourse.

Parking & tailgating

IU Athletics runs a large network of gameday lots around the stadium on the north side of campus, including the Fee Lane and Forrest Ave garages, the 17th Street, Briscoe and North Bypass lots, and several grass lots such as Park Ave, Forrest Ave and Sembower Tundra. Some lots are cashless, and passes for the tailgating fields are limited and sold in advance. RV parking uses permit lots such as Auxiliary RV and Bell Tower RV. ADA golf carts run from marked spots to stadium gates. The team walk from Assembly Hall starts about 2 hours 15 minutes before kickoff. Check IU's official gameday parking page, since details change.
